what is the meaning of life

Do you question the meaning of life?

Do you catch yourself wondering what life is all about? And then if the idea of reincarnation might be true, do you wonder if this is your first life? Or maybe you get the sense that perhaps you’re an “old soul” and maybe you’ve been here before?

Do you know a secret about life that most of us don’t?

Yes, that’s a lot of questions! Just the other day as I had a fleeting thought about life and all it’s mysteries, I came across an interesting article – the headline read, “4 Signs That This Isn’t Your First Life on Earth”.

What really caught my attention in the piece was the video at the end of the article.

It was a 4-minute video of two young boys discussing the meaning of life and the universe. Everything each of them said, was very profound.

The most part of the video features a 9-year-old who covers topics like is there life on other planets, is it possible that there are multiple universes, what is the meaning of life, and are the events in life pre-destined.

Two things he said stood out for me from the video:

1. You never know for sure if there really is ever anything in the search. It just… it’s an endless quest, without knowing what your quest is.

2. What is the meaning of life? That is one of the hardest questions there is. I would say what the meaning of your life is what you make it. What you think… what you want your life to be. Nobody can decide what you will do except for you. You may not be lucky enough and the odds may be against you but there is never a definite no that “you cannot do this”.

After watching the video, it reminded me of something someone said to me once:

“Life is simple and deep, but most make it complex and shallow.”

This kid breaks it down so simple – he doesn’t give you all the answers to life, but the fact that he speaks with such ease on a heavy topic really makes you wonder where that wisdom comes from. Watch the video here.

Maybe this is not his first life, and he remembers his soul’s wisdom, knowing and mission.

Maybe we are all doing a dance of life, death and reincarnation. Maybe we already know the secret to life but we’re just rediscovering that over and over again as we repeat our human experience through multiple lifetimes. Regardless, if you end up back at the quote I shared of keeping life simple and deep, it makes you wonder even more, “Does it even matter?

What if we just let go? What if we stopped asking questions – could we be at peace?

They say, what really matters most, is that we stop with everything in our head and start to live right now. Our thoughts and mind is such a powerful thing. We allow it to churn questions and worries and before we know it we spend our whole life asking so many questions versus just letting it all go and thus living life to the fullest and in pure joy – which is the real essence of life.

This is what enlightenment is all about – a deep understanding that there is no problem. Then, with no problem to solve, what will you do? Immediately you start living. You will eat, you will sleep, you will laugh, you will work, you will have a chit-chat, you will sing, you will dance – what else is there to do? Osho

So what about you? Are you looking to have life’s mysteries answered or you able to just let go and enjoy life for what it is, right now, in this very moment? Share your thoughts with us below!
